Donated photographs in Art for AIDS Orphans (2007 and 2008) to raise money for the Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund (Canada) Goelama Project, benefiting children orphaned or affected by HIV and AIDS.

Art For Aids Orphans is an annual art auction to benefit children orphaned and affected by HIV and AIDS. Supported by international artists who donate their work, local businesses who offer their services, an amazing urban exhibit space and a lot of goodwill, Art For AIDS Orphans aims to raise funds and awareness through our annual auctions. Our goal is to expand our fundraising each year, as we help people working with AIDS orphans throughout the developing world. Art For AIDS Orphans has chosen the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (Canada) as a beneficiary, out of our lifelong respect for its founder and their solid programs of support.

“Toronto’s World AIDS Conference has brought the devastation of HIV to the forefront of everyone’s minds this week. Now, an art event will give them a chance to actually do something about the problem. Next Thursday (August 24) at the Elliott Louis Gallery, Art for AIDS Orphans auctions off photographic works to benefit the Canadian arm of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund—a group that aims to help the millions of kids left parentless by the epidemic. Highlights include work by Nick Brandt, best-known for his haunting photos of Africa (shown here); Jillian Edelstein, a U.K. photographer who’s shot for the likes of Vanity Fair and the New Yorker; and Nadav Kander, whose conceptual photography has featured the faces of celebrities like Benicio Del Toro and Richard Ashcroft” (The Georgia Straight).
